Your client hasn't paid.
No more chasing.
Purring creates – and sends – reminders and debt collection notices that comply with the Debt Collection Act. Professional tone, correct deadline, correct fee. You enter the invoice. We handle the unpleasant part.
Automatic follow-up costs 19 kr per month. One price for your entire business, no commitment.
«The customer is 39 days overdue, and I'm too embarrassed to send a reminder. So I'll wait.»
That's why Purring exists. A reminder isn't a confrontation – it's a dated letter. After 14 days, you can charge a fee, and after a debt collection notice, the customer has 14 days. You don't need to find the right words. They're already written.

How it works
The free tool provides the text. The subscription handles the follow-up.
1
Enter the invoice
Client, invoice number, amount, and due date. That's all. No integration, import, or accounting system to connect.
2
We keep track of the days
Day 14 after due date: reminder with fee. If no payment: debt collection notice with 14-day deadline. Each message is legally compliant and sent in your name.
3
You get notified when it's paid
Mark the invoice as paid, and everything stops. If they don't pay by the debt collection notice deadline, you get a ready-made case to send to debt collection or the forliksrådet (the conciliation board).
The rules
The Debt Collection Act, Debt Collection Regulations, and Late Payment Interest Act apply to all invoice senders in Norway – even sole proprietorships with one customer.
Day 0
Due date
From the due date, late payment interest automatically accrues – 12.25 percent per year from 1. juli 2026. You can send a reminder immediately, but not yet charge a fee.
Day 14
Reminder with fee
At the earliest 14 days after the due date, you can send a reminder with a fee of up to 38 kr – 1/20 of the debt collection rate, which is 750 kr in 2026. The reminder must give a 14-day payment deadline. Reminders are optional – you can go straight to a debt collection notice.
§ 9
Debt Collection Notice
Written, at least 14 days' notice, and it must state that the claim will go to debt collection if not paid. Without a valid debt collection notice, the claim cannot be sent to debt collection.
After the deadline
Debt collection or forliksrådet (the conciliation board)
If the customer still doesn't pay, you can hand the claim to a debt collection agency, send a payment request yourself, or take the case to the forliksrådet (the conciliation board). Purring provides the documentation you need.
19 kr per month. That's the entire price list.
The price covers our service costs, plus a little. No price per user or invoice, no commitment, no 'premium' tier locking what you need. Cancel anytime.

FAQ
Must I send a reminder before collection?
No. Sending a reminder is optional. The law requires a debt collection notice: written, with at least a 14-day payment deadline, and stating the claim will go to collection if unpaid (Debt Collection Act § 9). You can send the notice yourself, right after the due date.
What's the maximum reminder fee?
Up to 38 NOK per reminder or debt collection notice. Only applicable if sent 14+ days after due date with 14-day payment term (Debt Collection Regulations § 1-2). Early sending means no fee, but reminders are still allowed.
What about late payment interest?
You are entitled to late payment interest from the due date without prior agreement. The rate is the key policy rate plus at least eight percentage points, adjusted biannually – from 1. juli 2026 it is 12.25 percent per year (Late Payment Interest Act § 3). From 2025, the Finanstilsynet, not the Ministry of Finance, will set it.
Invoicing a business? You can claim an extra 430 NOK.
For business/public clients, claim fixed compensation for collection costs in addition to interest: 430 NOK from 1. juli 2026 (Late Payment Interest Act § 3a). It's over 10x the reminder fee, requires no documentation, and few small businesses claim it. Not applicable to private individuals.
Customer is 39 days overdue. What do I do?
Send a debt collection notice today. After 14 days, you can charge a fee, and you are well past that point. The notice gives the customer 14 new days. If unpaid, send the claim to a debt collection agency or the forliksrådet (the conciliation board). Most pay when the notice arrives – it's rarely personal, just an invoice that slipped through the cracks.
Does a reminder ruin the customer relationship?
Seldom. A professional reminder with correct wording is normal business practice; customers receive them from all their suppliers. What harms the relationship is unpaid invoices that sit for months and eventually must be collected with interest and costs.
How long can I wait?
Ordinary monetary claims become time-barred after three years (Statute of Limitations Act § 2). Long before that, the customer may have changed accountants, contact persons, and perhaps banking relationships. The sooner you send a reminder, the easier it is to get paid.
How much does Purring cost?
The notice generator is free and requires no login. Automatic follow-up – we send reminders and debt collection notices for you on the correct day – costs 19 kr per month. One price for the entire company, no commitment, no 'premium'.
